Praying for Tonbridge
We are significantly involved in the community in Tonbridge, what with our congregation planted there, starting a new Alpha course at Caffe Nero, taking part in Healing On The Streets on Saturday mornings, to name only a few things. We received the following from one of our members based in Tunbridge Wells. It isn't an obvious testimony as such, but is certainly an awesome encouragement for us all to keep on praying about what God is doing there:
"As we were praying for Tonbridge I saw the outline of Tonbridge High Street. It had what looked like a clear plastic dome over it. It looked unbreakable and seemed to flex and give with the slightest touch, making penetrating it impossible. As the prayer went up I saw thin needle like shafts of light fire from the sky, so sharp and fast that they got through. More prayers, more holes until it looked like a colander letting light through into the town. Then came the exciting bit. Burning rocks hurtled from the sky, it was God carrying on where we could not. He obliterated the dome but the rocks did not hurt the town. All I saw, was the dome gone and the town bathed in light. The dome felt like sinicism, hard heartedness or resistance to God's love, 'heard it all before', disbelief - and it had all been taken away!"
Isaiah 45 says "Open up, heavens, and rain. Clouds, pour out buckets of my goodness! Loosen up, earth, and bloom salvation; sprout right living. I, God, generated all this." (Isaiah 45:8 from The Message)
