Healing Of Trigeminal Neuralgia - God's Way
Trigeminal neuralgia is a condition that causes recurring severe pains in parts of your face. From the early 1980's I have suffered from Trigeminal Neuralgia. It has caused so much discomfort and pain. It was discussed at length whether I could have an operation to cut the nerve. Hopefully the awful pain would then go. But, knowing once the nerve was cut, there was every possibility that I could be left with a lack of sensation in a part of my face, I wasn't keen on the idea!
It took great determination and will power on my part, to even open my mouth in the morning, after sleeping. To drink was agony. It could take two hours of total pain to eat a bowl of cereal, even softened Weetabix. Sometimes my facial pain was so painful I could hardly talk.
However, back in April 2008 the Holy Spirit spoke to me one Sunday at church. He did not say 'Go forward to be prayed for', but instead He said about me accepting Him working in me where I was. He told me to lie down on the floor, rather than kneel. On the next Sunday, He repeated the process.
I was on five anti-convulsant tablets a day to dull the pain. My first thought was to come off the tablets straight away, but my ever-cautious wife advised me not to do that. Instead, I came off them reasonably slowly over the next week or so. By 22nd April 2008, I had stopped taking them.
I now only get very slight pain, which is a good indicator as to how much I am trusting God, or not. It goes pretty quickly once I realise. The pain is so very little in comparison it matters not to me, really. God has really healed my life, not 'just' my Trigeminal Neuralgia. The difference in me is so fantastic. I thank Jesus so much for releasing me from such a demoralising and debilitating illness. Jesus does heal, even today!
