Our culture
These are the values which impact upon our lives and thinking more deeply than others. You should be able to tell what they are by mixing with us. If you can’t, you can at least tell where we are headed.
The tangible presence of God: as a manifestation of the kingdom of heaven on earth. We love to encounter God and enjoy intimacy with Him. Our gospel tells us that God wants to set the sinner free from the power of the devil; from sins, lies, sickness and torment. We are here to carry on the ministry of Jesus. We want to build the sort of church that can’t exist without his supernatural enabling in everything we do. We live to see the supernatural rule of King Jesus demonstrated on earth in such a way as to impact the communities in which we live.
Freedom in the grace of God: this is what Christ died to bring us into. We aren’t just looking for freedom from sin and its consequences, but also for structures and relationships that liberate believers into their God given destinies as they move out in their spiritual giftings.
Honour: this is the relational currency of heaven. Recognising and respecting the image of God in everyone we meet regardless of whether they have earned it or whether they agree with us. It involves the promoting and developing of others (1 Peter 2:17 and Philippians 2:3).
Joy: is the biblical response to salvation. The kingdom is characterised by laughter, fun and lightness of spirit.
Faith: responsible risk takers; dreaming dreams; taking initiatives in partnership with heaven; at home in the miraculous.
Creativity: prepared to do things differently; to integrate the arts into our service for God.
Love: is the supreme value: we are a church family; a community of covenant intimacy and honour. So we invest in family, relationships and smaller ministry teams.
